Education Washroom Refurbishment –

The last few months have been tough for everyone with COVID-19 taking its toll on individuals, families and the economy. In a world of virtual handshakes, Zoom meetings and remote working, it’s been a challenging time.
For the team here at Gravitas Build, we’ve continued to work hard and have managed to keep our existing projects running throughout the pandemic whilst keeping everyone safe. Nick Goodwin, our Head of New Business, has also been working hard on new business development, and we are pleased to announce the signing of a new contract for the fit-out of six new washrooms at a Birmingham school. Any building contractor involved with school refurbishment knows that the summer holidays are a busy time. This year is no different other than the lateness to which tender opportunities were hitting our desks. With COVID-19 forcing delays and school funding coming through late, all who work in the education sector have found it a challenging time. Fortunately, our bid team run a pretty slick operation, so when tender opportunities arrived, they were able to get them turned around in double time and luckily for us, present a number of winning bids.
For this particular project, the work consists of the refurbishment of six washrooms in a local primary school. We’ll be going into specific information when we compile a case study for the job, so watch this space, but for now, we’re excited to win the project.
In summary, the work consists of;

• The removal of existing washroom facilities and floor coverings
• Make good walls
• install new toilets
• Install new handwash troughs
• Install new urinal troughs
• Installation of new IPS Panels (IPS Panel choice’s explained here)
• New floor coverings to the washroom area and entrance
• Decorate throughout

Our dedicated team of education washroom refurbishment specialists will be carrying out the graft on-site. And back at the office, the project management team face the challenge of procuring the building materials and fixtures & fittings which in the middle of a pandemic is no walk in the park; have you tried buying a bag of plaster recently?
