NEWS | Gravitas Build Appoints New Finance Manager

We’re happy to announce a new addition to the Gravitas Build family. Jordon Cooper has been appointed as our new Finance Manager, bringing a wealth of experience and skills to the team. 

Steven Butcher – Contracts Manager: “2023 has been a big year for us here at Gravitas Build, with some major contracts won and delivered. We have a first-rate accountancy team that supports us; we couldn’t do what we do without them, but we could see that additional help was needed in the office as we move forward. Jordon has the skillset that meets all of our requirements.” 

Working as an assistant accountant at Haines Watts in Birmingham since March 2015, her responsibilities included accounts preparation, audit fieldwork, and submitting VAT returns. 

Before this, Jordon gained valuable work experience at A. E. Beckett & Sons is dealing with an abundance of customer service-related issues. 

Jordon: Dealing with the public was challenging, and it gave me a real insight into meeting customers’ expectations and communicating at all levels. They are skills that carry over well into the world of finance, where talking to suppliers on a daily basis is part of the job. 

Holding a Degree in Sports Management from University College Birmingham, she is currently progressing her knowledge by working towards an AAT qualification in Accounting. 

Jordon: “Part of my degree covered finance, and I realised it offered a technical and intellectual challenge that intrigued me. It set me off on a path into the finance world, and I’ve never looked back”.

Experienced and knowledgeable with all the major accountancy software packages, her knowledge, strong work ethic, and interpersonal skills make her a valuable addition to the Gravitas team. We look forward to working with her.
